Ashley grew up in the small town of Osoyoos where she started playing sports at a young age. After graduation she was fortunate enough to play varsity soccer for UBCO and obtained her undergraduate degree in biology. Afterwards, she was unsure of what career to pursue. A volunteer trip to Costa Rica solidified her choice to pursue physiotherapy and she has never looked back. A love for travelling led her to obtain a Masters of Physiotherapy degree across the pond in Aberdeen, Scotland. Upon her return, she also found a love of teaching people about physical fitness and decided to get her personal training certificate as well. She has been training individuals alongside physiotherapy for the past 7 years in Vancouver, B.C., and lately online. Ashley loves using movement and exercise as a tool to help people alleviate injuries and promote healthy living. As well, she approaches the patient with a wholistic problem-solving attitude. She can treat symptoms but prefers to find the mechanism behind the injury and help to correct any biomechanical issues to prevent further injuries. She is a firm believer in prevention and feels this is key in bettering any patient’s health goals. She has worked with musculoskeletal issues, neurological conditions (Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and chronic stroke), paediatrics and falls prevention. Her family has recently moved back home to the Okanagan and are enjoying being closer to family and friend’s. She is looking forward to learning new things and getting to know all of you who come to the clinic.

I never know what to say in these things!

And to be frank, I never know if anyone reads these either. So if you are reading this, tell me a little bit about yourself……

What is one thing you are doing for yourself today to help your future self?

When you come for your appointment tell me, and then I will know you read my Bio! 😉

I won’t leave you hanging, I’ll let you in on what I am up to for my future self too! You, and whoever else has read my bio will be the only ones in the loop!

Does that make you curious to learn more?..

Well if it does….then you should know, I was born & raised in a small town in Alberta. After high school I decided I wanted to explore the east coast of Canada. I have always been one for adventure, travel, the outdoors, sports, exploring, learning the history about where I am, and I always enjoy doing all of these things amongst great company.

I went to university for two years, before figuring out which career path I wanted to take. It was during this time that I ended up learning about a private school called Atlantic College of Therapuetic Massage. I did a little more research on the school, and found out they were about to start classes, and I knew I was always curious about learning this skill. So off I went on a new adventure of learning!

And sure enough I ended up falling in love with the profession more then I realized I could, and feeling incredibly blessed to have gained so much knowledge about the human anatomy, and how we are so connected.

Now I have always believed that you should share what knowledge you have, and so I do my best to continue to educate my clients about how incredibly connected we are! This is in hopes that they take this info, and use it as a guide for themselves to start to understand their bodies a little better! And keep in mind the more you tell me about the wild, and crazy adventure you have had in your life the better I can assist you!

Thank you for reading! And I look forward to seeing you at our next appointment! Take care for now! And have a great day!
